Meet the “PR wonder woman” Ananda Shakespeare

Ananda Shakespeare founded her boutique agency in 2014. Since then Shakespeare Communications has grown organically into a renowned local, regional and international public relations firm, with some clients remaining with her since the beginning. Shakespeare has managed to expand her business abroad, acting on behalf of global companies locally, and is regularly seen and heard discussing media and PR issues on radio, TV and online.

She’s an active member of MEPRA, The Marketing Society and the PRCA, working to voice her passion for female equality and media neutrality. During the pandemic, she launched a ‘pandemic of kindness’ campaign with award-winning Thai restaurant Cafe Isan, a concept that saw the restaurant call on everyone to perform one good, selfless act for someone else each day.

She recently ensured maximum coverage for Sambazon, a leading US-based acai producer, during its inaugural Gulfood presence; and she has ensured House of Pops has gone from a beach kiosk to a leading regional healthy snack provider with a market-dominating position. Shakespeare also works with top B2B companies including Food Specialities Limited, an innovative solutions provider to the food and beverage industry in the Middle East and Africa.

Always keeping up with media trends, Shakespeare has become a voice for the region’s PR and media sector, and clients rely on her for creative, innovative approaches to gaining awareness and coverage. As a vegan, many of her F&B clients are also in that sector. Moreover, Shakespeare also runs ‘Dubai Vegan Days’, a group for like-minded people to meet, eat and listen to guest speakers.
Dana Ashkar founder and CEO of CAHO said: “I have met and worked with many PR and communications professionals in my career. None of them have ever compared to Ananda.

She’s a combination of dedication, strategy and creativity. She has been a driving force behind the growth and reach of our brand CAHO; because of great initiatives, planning and content strategy. She manages the media and is exacting when it comes to her expectations of perfection. She is simply a PR wonder woman.”
